8:30 AMÌý- The alarm clock blares, but hitting snooze is always so tempting. WithÌýa sigh, I drag myself out of bed, knowing IÌýneed toÌýcheck the train schedule. IÌý´Ú¾±²µ³Ü°ù±ð»åÌý±õ’dÌýleave for an earlier train thanÌý±õ’dÌýinitially planned in caseÌýthere were anyÌýfurther delays, so I headed for the station atÌý9:10 am, after saying a quick goodbye to the dogÌýofÌý³¦´Ç³Ü°ù²õ±ð. OnceÌýI get ready toÌýleaveÌýI head out the door, waving goodbye.Ìý

11:00 AMÌý- TodayÌýweÌýhave an International animation speakers event. TwoÌýkey people from the industry are coming to speak to our classÌýthese peopleÌýhave worked at Sony Animation, Dreamworks, Blue Sky, Illumination and more.ÌýTheÌýfirst talk is led by Adam Cootes, a director at Annapurna.ÌýÌý±á±ðÌýdives deep into the world of storyboarding, andÌýit'sÌý´Ú²¹²õ³¦¾±²Ô²¹³Ù¾±²Ô²µ! WhoÌýknew that such small changes in a storyboard could completely alter the story? AdamÌýshows usÌývariousÌýexamples and explains how using different techniques can elevate your storyboards. AÌýbig part of his focus is on body language and the positioning of characters within a scene. HeÌýexplains how these elements can relayÌýmuchÌýinformation about a character and their relationship with others. HeÌýeven shows us how the same scene, with the same images, can be manipulated to change the narrative and focus of the audience completely. Overall,ÌýAdam'sÌýpresentation is engaging and informative. IÌýfeel likeÌýI'veÌýlearned so much about how seemingly minor changes within a storyboard can completely change the direction of a scene.ÌýÌýI'mÌýexcited to be able to utilise these techniques in my work.

12:15 PMÌý- After the fascinating talk on storyboarding, my stomach starts to rumble. Luckily, I brought some snacks and headed to the cafeteria withÌýsomeÌý´Ú°ù¾±±ð²Ô»å²õ. AÌýbreak is alwaysÌýa goodÌýchance to relax and socialise before diving back into a full day of events.

13:30 PMÌý- The break is over, and James Williams takes the stage. HeÌýdives into the world of animation layout, using Spider-Verse as his example. WeÌýsee how 2D storyboards evolve into 3DÌýscenes,Ìýand the challenges this creates (think character placement and camera angles). JamesÌýshows how the layout team tackles these challenges, craftingÌýeffectiveÌýcompositions that guide theÌýviewer'sÌý±ð²â±ð.ÌýIt'sÌýinspiring to see the different departments work together. JamesÌýeven highlights instances where the layout teamÌýtakes the lead, creating scenes before the storyboardsÌýare finalised. ByÌýthe end, my head is full of knowledgeÌýandÌýI'mÌýexcited to put it to use!

15:00 PMÌý-ÌýBothÌýAdam and James, the speaker for the second talk,ÌýhaveÌýshared a wealth of knowledge and experience.ÌýÌýIÌýfeel incredibly fortunate to have had the chance to learn from them. OnceÌýfinished, I pack up my things and head back to the station.

17:00 PMÌý- Once I arrive back home, after a quick hello to my mom, I head to the kitchen and grab a snack.ÌýÌýIÌýstart toÌýcrave some fresh airÌýsoÌýIÌýdecide toÌýtake my furry friend to a nearby park.ÌýTheÌýtrees are budding, andÌýthere'sÌýa joyful chirpiness in the air.ÌýÌýWeÌýkeep an eye out for any ducklings that may have recently arrived,Ìýmaking sure to bringÌýsome seed along to share. MyÌýdog is happy toÌýbe exploringÌýthe park, sniffing everyÌýinterestingÌýscent and chasing after squirrels.ÌýTheÌýwalk is a great way to de-stress after a busy day and enjoyÌýsomeÌýquality time with family andÌýourÌýfurry friends.

19:00 PMÌý- Back home after the walk, I feel refreshed and ready to tackleÌýsomeÌýmore schoolwork. IÌýset up my laptop at the kitchen table andÌýgot downÌýto business.ÌýÌýThere'sÌýa lotÌýto process fromÌýtoday'sÌýtalks, and I want toÌýmake sureÌýI capture all theÌýimportantÌýinformation.ÌýÌýTheÌýhours melt away as I delve into my notes, occasionally taking breaks for dinner and checking in with friends online.

9:00 PM -ÌýFinallyÌýI get in bed and begin to nod off into a beautifulÌýtime of sleepÌýexcitedÌýabout the possibilities of adventure along my way.Ìý
