Facilities
Over the last few years, we have invested 拢41 million into our City South campus in Edgbaston to provide specialist learning facilities for all Health, Education and Life Sciences听courses.
Our learning spaces and equipment include mock wards, a home birth room and simulation manikins that allow you to practice real-life skills before going out on placement and into the workplace. We also have a place dedicated to helping you improve some of those key skills you need -听SPACE (Skills Practice and Care Enhancement)听- which is stocked with all you need to feel more听confident when faced with real-life service users.
Placements
As a student at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, we understand placements are a big part of the experience you need. Placements can be daunting, but we鈥檒l be here to support you every step of the way.听Hear from our students about their placement experiences.

You will also have the opportunity to go on plenty of trips and visits to relevant places, such as Queen Elizabeth Hospital, home to the largest critical care unit in Europe.

- 探花直播 Children鈥檚 Hospital, which is home to one of the largest Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the country
- 探花直播 Women鈥檚 Hospital, which is one of two dedicated women鈥檚 hospitals in the UK, with the busiest single site maternity unit delivering more than 8,200 babies a year.
- University Hospitals 探花直播 NHS Foundation Trust (UHB), which is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England, serving a regional, national and international population.
All of our courses are regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), which means you will be able to apply for Registered Nurse or Midwife Status on completion.
