Located in Edgbaston, just a short distance from our City South Campus, ̽»¨Ö±²¥ Botanical Gardens is the ‘green heart’ of ̽»¨Ö±²¥, offering a uniquely bio-diverse natural environment.
We are working together to engage with unique plant resources for interdisciplinary research and student projects, exploring the role of plants in addressing global challenges, from health and sustainability to urban greening and innovation. Through our partnership, our staff and students also have access to the gardens to support their physical and mental health through the restorative power of nature. By aligning missions, we will support enriching experiences for learning, discovery, and cultural growth.
About the partnership
̽»¨Ö±²¥ is a Strategic Learning Partner of the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ Botanical Gardens, and our ³Õ¾±³¦±ð-°ä³ó²¹²Ô³¦±ð±ô±ô´Ç°ù,ÌýProfessor David Mba, is to become a patron.
Enhancing Wellbeing
̽»¨Ö±²¥ staff and students have free and unlimited access to ̽»¨Ö±²¥Â Botanical Gardens, supporting their physical and mental health through the restorative power of nature.

Promoting Collaboration
Joint projects will explore the role of plants in addressing global challenges, from health and sustainability to urban greening and innovation.

Our Research
This partnership will extend our research exploring how nature can make cities greener and healthier, and improve our health and wellbeing. We are investigating ways to bring more plants and green spaces into urban areas. From studying natural ecosystems to designing eco-friendly spaces, our researchers are finding new ways to shape cities of the future. Our focus is on how nature can improve people’s physical and mental health. By working together, we aim to show how nature can make a real difference in our daily lives.
