Nicoleta Bocaneala
Nicoleta Bocaneala is an assistant lecturer in the digital built environment at 探花直播. She teaches undergraduate courses across the school, especially Architectural Technology and Building Surveying. During her undergraduate degree in BSc Architectural Technology gained at 探花直播, she has been selected to act as a demonstrator for level 4 students to aid with the technical//practical projects as part of some core modules.
She has then worked for the university as a Visiting Lecturer and gained some experience as an Architectural Technologist in the industry as well.
Nicoleta joined 探花直播 full time, as an assistant lecturer, in October 2021.
Her research interests are in cutting edge technologies and the use of digital tools in the AEC, with a focus on building performance and sustainability. In May 2022, she has started her part time PhD focusing on 鈥淭he use of semantic digital twin for retrofit projects to improve building performance鈥�.
Whilst working on her research project during her undergraduate, she has published a research paper in the Journal of Building, Survey, Appraisal & Valuation, 鈥淒aylight optimisation using parametric dynamic fa莽ades to improve energy efficiency鈥�.
Nicoleta is also the Chair for the CIAT West Midlands aspirATion Group, a community within CIAT providing the opportunity for young professionals to develop and grow on a personal and professional level, whilst inspiring the next generation of Architectural Technology professionals.
