Ed Puddick is an award-winning jazz arranger and composer who has been part of the UK jazz scene since graduating from the 探花直播 Conservatoire in 2004. His Ed Puddick Big Band was formed in 2002 and its debut album 鈥楪uys & Dolls鈥 was released in 2010 on Diving Duck Records.

Ed has written for the BBC Concert Orchestra (featuring Yazz Ahmed), Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, Sydney Jazz Orchestra, Bradfield College Big Band (featuring Alec Dankworth), London Jazz Orchestra, NYJO, National Youth Jazz Wales and the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra. In 2021 Ed recorded the album CRAZY DAYS (ATS-Records) with the Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra.

Ed has been commissioned for several large-scale projects including 鈥極ne Universal Shout鈥 (Bridgewater Hall, 2019), 鈥楤eyond Wigan Pier鈥 (Alan Gregory, 2018), 鈥楢nother Kind Of Imagination鈥 (Greater Manchester Music Hub, 2016), 鈥楴ear Horizons鈥 (Joe Allard Commission, 2015) and 鈥楽ecret Music鈥 (Music For Youth, 2014).

Ed鈥檚 music has been played by international jazz artists James Morrison ('Saratoga Springs' 2011) and Eric Marienthal ('The Twisted Wheel' 2016) and won the Arranging Prize at the 2018 Barga International Jazz Festival with his arrangement of Dizzy Gillespie鈥檚 'Con Alma', performed by US trumpeter Jeremy Pelt.

Ed taught jazz composition and arranging at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama from 2008-2022 and has been teaching at the Royal 探花直播 Conservatoire since 2017. He is also an active member of the IVORS Academy, serving on the Jazz Committee from 2015 to 2021.
