How to Apply

Please note the information contained on this page is relevant to our Acting courses only. If you wish to apply for our Music courses, information is on this page

To apply for our undergraduate or MA/PgDip Acting courses you will need to apply through . However, to apply for Applied Theatre or Stage Management, you will need to use the main .

Applications for MFA Acting, MA Professional Voice Practice and research degrees (MPhil/PhD) are made directly to Royal 探花直播 Conservatoire. To view the course pages and apply, please use the buttons below.

Applying Using UCAS

UCAS isn't always the easiest website to use, so here's our short guide on how to apply for a Royal 探花直播 Conservatoire course using UCAS:

1. Register with UCAS

  • Visit this and select 鈥楥onservatoires鈥 if you are applying to our BA Acting (undergraduate) or MA/PGDip Acting (postgraduate) courses. If you are applying to Applied Theatre or Stage Management select 鈥楿ndergraduate鈥.
  • Once you have completed the registration, a username will be automatically generated, and you will be asked to choose a password.
  • Be sure to make a note of your username and password to enable you to log in later.

2. Login to continue your application

  • You will then need to听login to UCAS听Conservatoires or main UCAS with your username and password to听continue your application.
  • . You can work on it, save it and return to it later using your username and password. You must apply in English.

3. Provide contact details for an academic referee

  • BA (Hons) Acting 鈥 Your referee must be able to comment on your academic ability; Your referee should know you well enough to write about you and your suitability for higher education. You will be asked to submit an additional practical reference which is not a requirement however听you may still wish to include a referee for this who should be able to comment on your acting ability.
  • UCAS will not accept references from family, other relatives or friends. The reference forms are available using the below link, and you should email or post them to your referees.
  • References should be sent to听acting.admissions@bcu.ac.uk
  • BA (Hons) Stage Management and BA (Hons) Applied Theatre 鈥 Your referee must be able to comment on your academic ability; Your referee should know you well enough to write about you and your suitability for higher education.
  • PGDip & MA Acting - One of your referees must be able to comment on your academic ability; the other must be able to comment on your practical ability. Your referees should know you well enough to write about you and your suitability for higher education.
  • References should be sent to听acting.admissions@bcu.ac.uk

4. Fees and payments

  • BA Acting and PGDip/MA Acting -听There is a one-off UCAS application fee of 拢26.50payable to UCAS on submission of application form.
  • BA Acting and PGDip/MA Acting - An additional non-refundable audition fee of 拢35 is payable to the Conservatoire; this is collected through the UCAS system.听
  • You can make your payment online using a credit or debit card. The card doesn鈥檛 have to be in your name, but you do need the consent of the cardholder. If you can鈥檛 pay by card, you can choose to pay by an alternative method, such as cheque, postal order or bank transfer.
  • You may be eligible for a free audition. Please see the听fee waiver section for more information.
  • BA Applied Theatre and BA Stage Management - There is a one-off applicationpayable to UCAS on submission of application form. For a single course choice this will be 拢22, and 拢26.50 for two to five choices. There is no additional fee payable to the Conservatoire for these courses.

5. UCAS Deadlines

  • The听closing date for on-time applications is on 15th January听in the year prior to entry.听
  • You are advised to apply as early as possible. Late applications may be accepted until the end of August in which we have unfilled places. Please contact听Acting Admissions听before you make a late application.
  • If you have a disability, we would encourage you to apply as early as possible. Once we are aware of your disability we can try to support your individual needs.
