Junior Conservatoire student Jeevan Braich has been cast as young steam engine and main protagonist Rusty in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express. Rusty has big dreams of winning the championship railroad race and the heart of the beautiful Pearl, the newest of the coaches and the female lead.

The iconic musical will hit the stage on Saturday 8 June at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, which has been specifically designed for this production.

Jeevan has been studying at the Junior Conservatoire for five years, where he received specialist training, alongside other young musicians aged between eight and 18 with exceptional potential, and the ability to achieve this potential.

Junior Conservatoire students typically come from 探花直播, the West Midlands and surrounding counties to Royal 探花直播 Conservatoire (RBC) on Saturdays during term time. They are selected at the audition stage based on their passion for music and determination to be the best that they can.

These students have regular opportunities to perform as soloists and as members of ensembles, choirs and orchestras, and to compete in competitions. The Junior Conservatoire specialises in nurturing talent, offering specialist teaching and constructive feedback for young musicians.

Jeevan said: 鈥淢y time at the Junior Conservatoire was the best teaching and foundation I could have asked for. The facilities and resources given to me to express my passion for music were so beneficial 鈥 not to mention the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media that provided me with guidance and experience to go into the industry prepared.

鈥淎s nerve racking as the auditions were, I know I was prepared thanks to my incredible singing mentor Claire Wild, and the opportunity to practise and thrive at the Conservatoire each week.

鈥淚 was singing the Conservatoire鈥檚 praises during my auditions and will continue to do so, as I can鈥檛 think of a better musical upbringing. I can鈥檛 wait to be singing in those practice rooms recording TikToks just like the old days.鈥

Head of Junior Conservatoire Tim English said: 鈥淓ver since he first joined the Junior Conservatoire, Jeevan showed an exceptional ability to communicate both on and off stage. It has been a great pleasure to watch his skills develop during his time with us, and I am absolutely delighted that he has been rewarded with this incredible opportunity.鈥
