Students from the Strings Department at RBC enjoyed a masterclass by celebrated violinist Tasmin Little on Wednesday (14 February).
Tasmin, who has been awarded an OBE and a CBE for services to music, also critiqued a number of performances during a three-hour session in the Recital Hall.
Interim Head of Strings Nick Stringfellow said it was an 鈥渆xciting and enlightening day鈥 for students.
鈥淲ithin minutes of being in the building, Tasmin was already sharing transformative and innovative ideas,鈥 he said.
鈥淪he gave a fantastic masterclass, urging students to search for more clarity in their interpretations and dig deeper into the music. It was a really interactive afternoon for the violinists who participated in this rewarding experience.鈥
A concert soloist who has performed with some of the world鈥檚 most famous orchestras, including The Hall茅, New York Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic, Tasmin trained under violin maestro Yehudi Menuhin.
She continues to champion classical music and has recorded numerous albums during her career, winning the Critics Award at the Classic Brit Awards in 2011 for her recording of Elgar鈥檚 Violin Concerto.
