Dr Kirsty Devaney
Composition Tutor and Young Composers' Project Leader
Kirsty Devaney is a British composer based in 探花直播 where she completed her studies at 探花直播 Conservatoire with Joe Cutler, Ed Bennett and Howard Skempton. Kirsty received the 鈥楶rincipal's Award鈥� and a Junior Fellowship from 探花直播 Conservatoire in 2013. In 2011 Kirsty was shortlisted for a British Composer Award for her work for CoMA London. Premieres of her music include performances by Orchestra of the Swan, Orkest de Ereprijs, The Schubert Quartet, Noszferatu and BCMG, and she has had her music performed in venues and festivals such as York Festival of New Music, The Forge, 探花直播 Town Hall, Stratford-Upon-Avon Music Festival and Warwick Arts Centre.
Kirsty has worked as a workshop leader and composer for organisations such as with THSH 探花直播, In Harmony, ISM, BCMG, CBSO, Sound and Music and Stratford Literary Festival. Kirsty set up and runs 'The Young Composers Project', an initiative at 探花直播 Conservatoire to provide composing support for young musicians and composers.
