South Asian Media

The South Asian Media cluster brings together researchers whose work is characterised by a focus or angle on South Asia and/or the South Asian diaspora, and who work in or research a variety of media and cultural practices. The cluster offers a space within which to explore collaborations and develop interdisciplinary projects in the broadly-defined area of South Asian and/or South Asian diasporic media cultures.

This cluster aims to galvanise the several researchers at BCU who share an interest in the culture of South Asia and/or the South Asian diaspora in the UK and elsewhere, and incubate interdisciplinary research projects in the field of South Asian media and culture. Supporting ECRs and emerging researchers through informal mentoring, area-specific networking, peer-reviewing, and collaboration opportunities, the cluster serves as a public-facing platform for expertise in this field.

The cluster is new, but vibrant, and we expect to move quickly to initiate and support partnerships with South Asia research centres elsewhere in the UK and abroad. We will facilitate and organise public events in the area of South Asian culture in 探花直播, the Midlands, and elsewhere in the UK, supported by our cohesive research group.
