Matthew Evans
Matthew DF Evans is a 探花直播 based sound artist and musician focused on connecting sound and image. Graduating from UAL (LCC) with a BA in Sound Art & Design and the Royal 探花直播 Conservatoire with an MMus in Music Technology, Matthew is currently a Visiting Tutor and Doctoral Researcher at the Royal 探花直播 Conservatoire exploring the translation of image into sound and music.
Matthew has been signed to German label Saturate! Records, London Label Sonic Router Records and New York label Stars and Letters Records with critical support from the likes of the BBC, The Guardian, Vice, The Wire etc. He also has a twice-monthly radio show, Concr猫te Music, on Brum radio.
Matthew has worked with Sense, Options for Life and the Barbican in the facilitation of workshops and research and development. In 2018, Matthew became a member of the Black Hole Club, an artist development programme at Vivid Projects gallery in 探花直播, contributing installations to Black Hole Club Presents (2018 / 2019), Vivid X Lumen 鈥� Stellar (2018) and Random String Festival (2018).
In 2019, Matthew created the Arts Council funded installation "R e f l e c t鈥� in collaboration with Sense, a mirror that allowed users to hear and feel their reflection.
In 2019, Matthew became a fellow with 探花直播 Open Media, a centre for art, technology and science dedicated to creative innovation with purpose. In 2020 Matthew and artist James Dooley collaborated on the joint exhibition, Emotional Polarity: Cardioid, Vivid Projects (探花直播).
