Across our research clusters, the Security and Extremism research group aims to deliver real-world impact on聽the following topics:

  • Theoretical contributions to the debate on the nature of security studies.
  • Examining, debating and informing whose security is important? 听听
  • Examining issues related to cybercrime, surveillance and online hate speech.
  • Security issues including threats to national, regional and human security, such as extremism, far-right threats, terrorism, hate crime, organised crime and inequalities of power.
  • Engaging in community-based research that impacts regional events as well as international events.
