Visiting Research Degree Scholar Scheme

At ̽»¨Ö±²¥, we welcome applications to take part in our Visiting Research Degree Scholar (³Õ¸é¶Ù³§)Ìýscheme. The VRDS scheme provides international postgraduate researchers carrying out doctoral study at a non-UK institution with the opportunity to join our vibrant research community for up to 12 months. This scheme is ideal for researchers looking to collaborate with leading academics, access world-class resources, and engage with a diverse network of scholars.

Key Details

  • Duration: Maximum of 12 months
  • Intakes: Six per year – September, November, January, March, May, and July
  • Facilities Access: Visiting scholars will have access to the University Library, Research Buildings, and the Research Hub
  • Financial Responsibility: Scholars are responsible for all expenses, including flights, accommodation, food, and local transportation
  • VRDS scheme Fee: £1,000

Application Process

  1. Identify an Academic Host – Interested doctoral researchers must contact a relevant academic at the University to discuss their proposed research visit.
  2. Complete the Application Form – Applicants must complete the and share it with their proposed academic host.
  3. Approval Process – The academic host will submit the application through the University’s internal approval process. If successful, the academic host will issue a formal letter of invitation to the VRDS.
