Just a 15 minute drive from our City Centre Campus and easily accessible via car or public transport, lies Edgbaston - home to our City South Campus. With beautiful visitor hotspots such as Martineau Gardens and The Botanical Gardens, the suburban area of Edgbaston has lots to offer.

Here’s our reasons to visit Edgbaston

1) The ̽»¨Ö±²¥ Botanical Gardens

Visit and explore the spectacular  for free as a BCU student (or staff member). The historic glasshouses are home to thousands of species of plants, while the gardens are perfect for a peaceful stroll to soak up nature and get your dose of vitamin G.  They also host special events throughout the year, including outdoor cinema and light trails (paid). °Õ³ó±ðÌý are a free community garden nearby which are also worth a visit.

Winner of Best Restaurant in 2018, Laghi's has amazingly delicious menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you love Italian food,  is the place for you!

Whether you fancy tea, coffee or food,  have you covered. Enjoy the warm and friendly environment in the outdoor area as well as indoors.

5) ̽»¨Ö±²¥ Wildlife Conservation Park

°Õ³ó±ðÌý is home to hundreds of animals and help save a number of endangered species.

6) Winterbourne House and Gardens

Nestled amongst the greenery of Edgbaston - and next to our neighbours at The University of ̽»¨Ö±²¥ - lies , a glorious Edwardian house restored to it's Arts and Crafts splendour. You'll need a ticket to gain entry, but it's well worth it to explore the idyllic grounds of the house, which look beautiful whatever the season. Students receive discounted entry, too!

7) Harborne walkway

As the name suggests, the Harborne Walkway is a leafy corridor that will take you safely all the way from Harborne to Summerfield Park, the Edgbaston Reservoir and the City Centre along the canal towpath. It's about 20 minutes by bike, and a total wildlife haven if you fancy a break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

8) Perrott's Folly

Offering more of a spectacle than something to do is , a 96-foot gothic-style tower rumoured to have inspired Tolkein's Two Towers. Tours run very occasionally but aren't for the feint hearted - the only way up and down is a very narrow and very steep spiral staircase.

9) Cannon Hill Park

For an inner city park, has it all. Swan Pedalo boats, a crazy golf course, its own land train and even a café, gallery and cinema space on site at .
